§ 153.015. ADMINISTRATION.

- (A) The provisions of this chapter shall be administered by the Village Planning Commission and Village Council in accordance with Public Act 110 of 2006 being M.C.L.A. §§ 125.3101 et seq., Public Act 12 of 2008 being M.C.L.A. §§ 125.3101 et seq. and Public Act 33 of 2008 being M.C.L.A. §§ 125.3801 et seq.. The Village Council shall establish a Building and Zoning Department and shall employ a Zoning Official to act as its officer to affect the proper administration of this chapter. The term of employment, rate of compensation and any other conditions of employment shall be established by the Village Council. Nothing set forth herein shall be construed as prohibiting the village from entering into agreements with other entities for the purpose of sharing labor and administrative expenses in connection with administration and enforcement. Applications for building permits shall be filed with the county, and its Building Official shall oversee compliance and Building Code enforcement.(B) All applications for zoning permits shall be submitted to the Zoning Official, or his or her designee, who may issue permits and certificates of occupancy when all applicable provisions of this chapter have been met. The Zoning Official shall be empowered to make inspections of premises to carry out his or her duties in the enforcement of this chapter.(C) The Village Clerk shall record all nonconforming uses existing as of the effective date of this chapter for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this chapter.(Ord., § 2.1, passed 8-5-1991; Ord. 2012-02, passed - -2012)
